I have spoken to many pastors about sharing the gospel with Catholics over the past few years. Most of them do not see a need to preach the Gospel to them because they are under the impression that are taught the Gospel of Salvation in the Catholic Church. So, let’s look at what the Catholic Church teaches about salvation.
You must belong to the Roman Catholic Church
You must receive the sacraments of the Roman Catholic Church
Must confess his sins to a priest
You must obey the Roman Catholic Church and all of its teachings
You must do good works to earn your salvation
If you aren’t good enough, whatever good enough is, you must spend time in purgatory to make up for not being good enough to go straight to heaven
By the Bible’s definition of salvation Catholics who put their trust in the Roman Catholic Church instead of Jesus Christ would not be saved and would go to hell instead of heaven. They are all now being deceived just as they have been since 300 A.D.
Over many centuries the Roman Catholic Church has tried to keep the Bible out of the hands of the people. They murdered the translators, printers and readers of the Bible in the common language and burned all of those Bibles they could find. Their philosophy was that if a person could not read the Bible they would have to depend upon the Roman Catholic Church to tell them what the Bible said. Throughout the centuries before the Reformation they used this power to control the people and their monarchs and attempted world domination, something I don’t think they have given up on. If it weren’t for the Protestant Reformation they might have succeeded.
Knowing that Jesus Christ is God and Savior and putting our trust in him for your salvation are two different things. The Catholic Church teaches that Catholics must put their trust in the Roman Catholic Church, in Mary, and the Sacraments for their salvation.
Most people, especially the Roman Catholic lay persons, do not realize that the Catholic Church uses their ignorance of the true gospel to control them. Once a person in the Catholic Church Is aware of the true gospel they start to question all of their teaching, but the answers to their questions is not forthcoming, and they have a tendency to leave the Roman Catholic Church branding all Christian religion with the deception perpetrated by the RCC. Many, if not all of the traditions and teachings of the Roman Catholic Church can be shown to be false by applying the Bible to those teachings.
The true gospel of salvation Is very simple to understand, but as you can see, the Catholic church’s road to salvation is not easy to understand nor will it get you to heaven. So, a Catholic, could not know until after they die if they are going to heaven, hell, or purgatory. They never now until it is too late if their life was good enough!
From very early childhood, around the age of five or six, children are indoctrinated into the teachings of the Catholic Church. This indoctrination continues on to adulthood. Although many Catholics truly love the Lord they are being misled by a lying apostate Roman Catholic Church whose only concern is to control them, and would like nothing more than to control the world. Catholics have been taught to put the Roman Catholic Church the Pope and the Vatican ahead of Jesus Christ. Although the Catholic Church says that the Bible is the word of God, it also states that the tradition of the church is equal to the Bible when it comes to matters of faith and morals. Their reasoning is that when God changes his mind he communicates those changes through the tradition of the Roman Catholic Church, it’s Pope, and it’s Cardinals. But the Bible says that God never changes.
With all this in mind you can see that the people in the Catholic Church need to hear the true gospel of salvation. If you are a Catholic reading this you need to know that I am aware of how hard it is for you to even read this article, let alone act on it, as I was once a very devout Catholic and former seminarian.
